HiFi Club was started by Hans Betzholtz and Elaine LeVasseur
in 1987 specifically to design and install custom audiophile
music systems. Since then the Club has expanded to offer multi-room
audio and video, home theaters, and automated control systems
for residential and commercial spaces. Every project, small
or large, is still individually designed after much study and
collaboration. We test and try every product we sell and consistently
design for high performance and ease-of-use. Our projects have been
featured in numerous national magazines, including Robb Report’s Home
Entertainment Design and Stereophile’s Guide to Home Theaters.
Our trained, experienced and CEDIA certified staff includes a sales and design team, a systems integration and programming team, installation teams, an ISF certified video specialist, service specialists, and administrative support.
We are community minded and proud of our support for schools and non-profits including UCSB Arts & Lectures, CALM, Art From Scrap, the Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum, the Santa Barbara County Bowl Foundation, Girls, Incorporated, the Lobero Theater Foundation, Youth Symphony, Santa Barbara High School Jazz Band, TradArt Construction Academy, Lotusland, Crane Country Day School, and Montessori Schools, among others.
We’re proud to be Green. Automated control systems for home and office can increase the efficiency of many sub-systems such as irrigation, indoor and outdoor lighting, and HVAC, to save water and energy. Rather than trying to master several different kinds of control boxes, HiFi Club can combine control of these systems, along with audio and video, into one simple interface, designed especially for our client.
On the job and at our offices HiFi Club staff properly recycle up to 90% of our trash, including office paper, cardboard, wood and plastic packaging, used wire, old components, and yard waste. We re-use Styrofoam and bubble wrap. Our new work van runs on bio-diesel fuel and three of our seven staff bike or bus to work every day. Our offices and warehouse at 519 Garden Street have dual paned glass, large skylights, lots of low wattage lighting, a drip irrigation system, and trees for summer shade.
